Dancing

[2005] [2006]

I enjoy Dancing. I am a Push Dancer. The Push is a derivative of the West Coast Swing. It is a slotted dance. West Coast Swing (WCS) shouldn’t be confused with East Coast Swing (ECS) or what people typically call “Swing.” Plain “Swing” tends to be merged with ECS, Lindy Hop, Jitter Bug, Bop, etc. Lindy Hoppers tend not to consider themselves ECS. As a matter of fact the call ECS dancers “Easties.”

Anyway, ECS tends to be somewhat high energy and circular in motion while WCS is slower, smoother, more sensual and slotted in motion. These are descriptions in the broadest of strokes and you will find many to argue the descriptions and exceptions to each.

This is my gateway into the pictures for my Dance interests. You will find that many of the photos are of people at various dance events/venues and they are not dancing. But, they are having fun.

There will be some pictures of dancers caught in the act of dancing. Baptists, this is your advanced warning. (This said with tongue frimly in cheek).

Oh, by the way, the pictures speak for themselves that I am not a gifted photographer. Much less a professional one.
